Kallie the Wonder Dog!

Last week, I took Kallie into the vet to have a biopsy done on a lump that I found on her tummy. We found out that she had a Mesenchymal tumor which is a form of skin cancer. She had surgery to remove the tumor this past Wednesday, and also got her teeth cleaned.

Kallie's doctor said that the surgery went well and the tumor was smaller than she initially suspected. It had not reached the muscle, making it easier to remove. Kallie has a very large incision on her tummy, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her. Another biopsy is being done and we should have the results by Monday or Tuesday. Kallie's doctor is optimistic that the tumor is benign, but can't be certain until she gets the results back.

With Kallie's back surgery to correct ruptured disks and paralysis, and now the tumor removal, she has certainly been through a lot in the last few years. She is such a sweet dog, even though she snores like a bear, and is such a trooper. Hopefully we will have some good news to post in a few days. I don't think her time is up quite yet.
